I knew it! It was just a matter of time before they found a way to incorporate television functionality into MP3 players. I always wondered if the two would go together and if it could make any sense to own a device like that.

Well, this week, we highlight the Titan MP4 player that's jam-packed with so many features it puts other MP3 players to shame.

Here are the standard frills and thrills that come with the device.

Built-in TV tuner.

Compatible with MP3, MP4, WMA, WAV, AVI, JPEG, TIF

1.3 megapixel digital camera with video-recording capability.

Card reader

Voice recorder

FM radio

Audio-video output

FM Radio and Television Tuner

Both the FM radio and TV tuner features work perfectly. The television function is basic and gives you access to all the local stations.

What's also great is that at most locations islandwide you should be able to get seamless reception, which means you don't have to be walking around in circles like a dog chasing its tail. There is similar faith in the FM radio - just pull out your antenna and you're good to go!

Design

At first glance, the device looks so cheap and simple that you might not have considered buying it. But never judge a book by its cover, because beneath the simple exterior is an extraordinary device.

I'm not going to lie, this is one ugly MP4 player and the clunky buttons feel despicable. The next design flaw I found is that all the buttons have a secondary function that you have to access by holding them down for two to three seconds.

This is an annoying process you'll have to bear with if you want to navigate through the main menus effectively.

Audio

At least the audio is better than how it looks. The player comes with a built-in speaker that offers sufficient

audio power to listen your music and watch videos. This baby isn't mind-blowing, but it gets the job done.

Display

I didn't expect much in this department, but I was pleasantly surprised. Photos and videos are displayed in full glory on screen. The screen displays vibrant colours and rich menu icons. If I were to do a comparison, I'd say that it looks like a Motorola SLVR 7 cellphone display, but bigger.

Camera and video recorder

The camera on this is definitely an improvement on the cam found on all Motorola SLVR 6 phones out there. That said, let me add that the camera features are very limited but takes good enough photos. The video recorder function is also effective but also limited.

Conclusion

The device features multiple functions that really display the convenience in technology. However, this all-in-one MP4 player, hobbled somewhat by a few deficiencies, gets a 7/10 rating.
