Faking Flawless
Published: Saturday | January 24, 2009
You've spent all evening primping your hair, picking out your favourite cocktail dress and even adding an extra coat of nail polish for that finishing touch. But how much thought have you put into perfecting your first line of attraction - your face?
Surrounded by what seems to be innate beauty in magazines, on TV shows and catwalks, it's easy to think that the picture-perfect look is unattainable. However, Saturday Life has convinced three women to reveal their secrets to faking flawless.
Tinted moisturiser
Tinted moisturiser covers up my slight imperfections while still allowing my skin to breathe.
"I wear it every morning because it has the added benefit of SPF 30, which helps to decrease the chances of getting premature wrinkles, age spots and skin cancer.
"Tinted moisturiser is truly a three-in-one deal: sheer coverage, protection from the sun and skin nourishment. What more could a girl ask for?"
Tip: Don't forget your neck!

Bronzer
"As someone with pale skin, I can truly say that bronzer gives me the perfect sun-kissed glow. It also helps to contour my face and highlights my cheekbones. I prefer using a powdered bronzer because it's easier to apply. Just a couple of swishes on my cheekbones, chin and forehead and I'm good to go."
Tip: Ensure you pick a bronzer that matches your skin tone. You don't want to look orange.

Concealer
"I love concealer because it fools everyone into thinking I got eight hours of sleep despite my all-nighter in the library! It does a great job of covering up the dark circles under my eyes and makes me look fresh-faced and alert in the mornings.
"I just place a tiny amount on my index finger and dab, from the corner of my eye inwards, to ensure it's evenly spread."
Tip: With concealer, it's important to remember that less is always more.
