Up to late last night, the police were still searching for the 22-year-old man accused of murdering his pregnant girlfriend at her home in Copperwood district near Bickersteth, St James, on Sunday.

The police say the suspect, Michael Riley, is also from Copperwood.

He is said to frequent Barnett Lane, Norwood, and North Gully in St James.

The Constabulary Communi-cation Network reported that 22-year-old Ayeisha Kerr, who was expected to give birth to twins next month, was at home with Riley when he asked her to hold an illegal gun that he had.

It is reported that Kerr refused and Riley put the gun to her head and fired a shot, hitting her in the right eye.

Kerr, who has two other children, ages six and three, is the fifth person to have been killed in St James since January.
