Tivoli 'A' swamp Eden Strikers

Defending champions Tivoli Gardens 'A' registered an easy 82-7 victory over Eden Strikers in the Jamaica Netball Association/Jamaica National Building Society Open League competition at the Leila Robinson Courts yesterday.

In the day's other games, Raiders United 'A' stopped Blades United 'B' 24-21, Police 'C' edged Hagley Park 13-10, Waulgrovians 'B' beat Omega 'B' 28-19, Rivoli United got by Molynes United 'B' 34-5, Waulgrovians 'C' beat Molynes United 'C' 35-13, East Central whipped Jetsetters 'C' 38-16, Molynes United 'B' defeated Ravens 33-14, Police 'A' beat Bridgeport 29-17 and Jetsetters 'A' got by GC Foster College 38-24.

Former national player Kasey Evering led the way for Tivoli Gardens, as she netted 26 of her team-high 49 goals in the first period, as the west Kingston based-team led 41-5 at half time.

The Sylvester Campbell-coached Tivoli continued their prolific scoring performance in the second half, outscoring their opponents 47-2, as they romped to a comfortable victory.

Evering, who is also the captain of her team, received solid support from Nicole Peart, 27 goals.

"Our team is a bit dysfunctional at the moment, but we are coming together and we are working with the players that we have and, hopefully, we can make it to the top two," said Evering.
