Let's define the good life. For some it's all about money and possessions. But for others it's more about having health, strength and daily bread and sharing them with those close to them. The latter scenario is what Marcia and Richard Forbes decided to do last Sunday as they hosted a New Year's dinner and singalong at their Waterworks, St Andrew, pad.

The couple and their son Delano opened their doors to a select few, as they all gave thanks for making it into 2009. The fare was deliciously filling; the servers working overtime. At times it was self-serve at the bar but that was fine, because that was the kind of laid-back affair it was. Wasn't much of a singalong to the tunes of Floyd Folkes but there was more than a

helping of dance moves to his repertoire. No 'bruk out' stuff like New Year's Eve, but still a tribute to the fine music they were hearing.

Somewhere in the distance around 9:15 p.m., someone set off fireworks which seemed appropriate, considering that when you're kicking back with family and friends, it is always cause for celebration.

Lloyd Allen; Glen Christian; Daryl and Ann-Marie Vaz; Madge Shirley, her daughters Tania and Tanice and her son-in-law Abner Gonsalves, Marva Bernard; Karl Scully; Yvonne Foster; Liz Levy and Billy Heaven.
