The Jamaica Netball Association (JNA)/ Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) Open League competition continues today with defending champions Tivoli Gardens 'A' facing Eden Strikers at the Leila Robinson Courts, starting at 4:30 p.m.
At the same time, Speg 'B' will entertain Ravens 'B', Jetsetters 'B' face Molynes United 'A' and Duhaney Park Strikers 'B' take aim at the Jamaica Defence Force.
Tivoli, who are unbeaten this season, lead Zone Five with 15 points ahead of Police 'A' (15).
Tip-top shape
However, the west Kingston based-team has a superior goal difference over their opponents. They are followed by Bridgeport (12) and Skibo 'B' (6).
"We are going out there to play good netball because this is what we have been doing despite a number of our key players been injured," said Sylvester Campbell, coach of Tivoli Gardens. "We have been doing a lot of work in our defensive area because it's now getting closer to the final round and we want to make sure that we are in tip-top shape when we get there."
Former national players, Kasey Evering, Tamara Hylton and Peta Gaye Thomas, will lead the Tivoli charge, along with the experienced pair of Nicole Henry and Nerissa Gibbs.
Eden Strikers are yet to win a game this season and, according to their coach, Fred Marsh, they are not holding out much hope of changing that trend today.
"We are just going out there to get some experience and if we can put on a good showing against them, I think this will do well for us in our junior league competition," Marsh noted.
