The 4 p.m. starting time on the invitation for the Heineken VIP Bond party, last Saturday, in Oracabessa, St Mary, was perhaps for those who weren't so keen on staying out late. But, the majority of guests, who got the festivities going at about 7 p.m., were definitely intent on partying - Bond style.
Urged to dress like their favourite femme fatale and Bond villains, women showed up in body-hugging dresses, representing the sexy bond girls, whereas men sported dark suits and bow ties.
Beautifully draped black and white tables dotted the lawns of the fabulous Goldeneye. Food and drink stations were conveniently located. Hostesses, with laden trays, were on hand, sparing some guests the walk to the stations.
Soca segment
Live band music served as a prelude to what was to come for the party folks. After the formalities and introductions, disc jockeys Jigga and Kurt Riley spun the music.
Guests took over the two dance floors, gyrating to their favourite songs. What was apparent was that they could not have enough of the soca segment as DJ Riley played soca that sent guests in a frenzy.
The scheduled 11 p.m. end time came too quickly for some guests, who lingered beyond, soaking up the '90s dancehall hits. It was definitely a mission accomplished by the Heineken team.
Guests out for the night included: Chris Blackwell, Ayesha and Don Creary, Sean Lyn, John Burns, chief foreign correspondent of New York Times; Yendi Phillipps; country manager for Heineken, Fredrique Asberg; Casino Royale Bond girl, Caterina Murino; and Empress.
