Divestment fears trouble workers

The divestment of Jamaica's sugar industry could have a catastrophic effect on thousands of workers who know little else than the swinging whiz of a cutlass.

Roselyn Barrette, a more than 30-year veteran, epitomises the feeling of uncertainty.

"No one has said anything to us," she said. "I am worried, very worried, but we will just have to hope and pray that having laboured here all our lives, it will not be in vain."
