THE EDITOR, Sir:I read your editorial ('On Waite's ... nonsense') with a lessening degree of interest, amusement and fascination. My fascination stemmed from the fact that after such a lengthy harangue, there was nothing gleaned that substantiated your views.
As a matter of fact, after circumventing the patchwork of unnecessary repetitions (for emphasis, perhaps) and fluff, I was amused to find the article simply was not worth the paper it was written on.
In this regard, may I suggest you quit harrumphing your own spu-rious dysfunctional acquiescence to other societies and cultures?
Like they say in the societies and cultures you are trying to have emulated, "the lights are on, but no one is home".
I am, etc.,
