Jamaica will be participating for the first time and will contest five of the nine events - athletics, table tennis, badminton, boxing and swimming. The other events are tennis, weightlifting, wrestling and shooting.

The JOA said it will send about 15 athletes in total. The Amateur Swimming Association of Jamaica has chosen three swimmers to attend the games - Kendeise Nangle, Alexia Royal-Eatmon and Dominic Walter.

Nangle, a triple-gold medallist at the Caribbean Islands Swimming Championships in July , will contest four events - 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke and the 50m butterfly. Royal-Eatmon will swim the 50m and 100m backstroke, the 100m butterfly and the 200m individual medley.

The lone male, Walter, will compete in the 200m freestyle, 200m butterfly and 200m individual medley.
