Tourists love 'de flayva'
published: Sunday | September 28, 2008

Saint International models show off the designs from the 2008 Resort Collection from House of Flayva.- Contributed

Carnival Cruise's Destiny started its new cruise route with their first island stop in Ocho Rios, last Thursday, with a bang, as the island vibes of Margaritaville were felt in true island 'style' as they presented the 2008 Resort Collection from Yola Gray's House of Flayva.

Gray coordinated a collection of crocheted and chiffon ensembles using the rich Jamaican colours infused with the Rasta 'Rock' red and the Caribbean blue in her usual classy elegance. The collection was further enhanced by the Caribbean line of accessories from Cinderella Hats and Bridal Wear with hats, handbags and belts, a collaboration that had both designers networking their skills totally in sync. However, both Marcellas James and Gray confirmed that it was only the night before the show that they combined the pieces. Definitely a spiritual synergy!

approval rating

The approval rating from Margaritaville was a definite "thumbs up". The crowd appeal from the over 230 tourists and guests left no doubt they wanted more as the models from Saint International strutted their stuff in true 'saintly' style. The blend of Jamaican colours for the collection brought back memories of Jamaica's Olympic triumphs in Beijing as guests started making requests for the pieces that had the national colour blend.
