OLYMPIANS SHERICKA Williams and Nesta Carter were the only Jamaican winners at yesterday's Colourful Daegu Pre-Championships meeting in Daegu, South Korea.
Williams, the Olympic 400m silver medallist, defeated a fairly strong field to take top honours in the women's 200m in 22.94.
Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie of the Bahamas finished second in 22.99 while American Carmelita Jeter was third in 23.01.
In the men's 100m, Carter and Michael Frater, both who helped Jamaica to the 4x100m relay world record in Beijing, finished one-two.
Finishings
Carter won in 10.08 while Frater, the 100m sixth-place finisher in Beijing, finished in 10.15.
Brian Dzingai of Zimbabwe, who was third in the 100m, topped the 200m with a good 20.28 result.
Jamaican Chris Williams was third in 20.66 to finish behind Dzingai and Gary Kikaya of Congo (20.63).
In the men's 400m hurdles, veteran Danny McFarlane was third in 49.38 seconds.
Olympic bronze medallist Bershawn Jackson of United States was narrowly beaten by L.J. van Zyl of South Africa, who finished fifth in Beijing.He won in 48.72.
