Using Bolt associal capital
published: Wednesday | September 24, 2008

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Kindly allow me to join the chorus of Jamaican voices in the diaspora who were truly proud of Usain Bolt's accomplishments.

Mr Bolt has indeed a great degree of social capital that could assist our youths in a meaningful way.

Having said that, I would like to suggest that the Ministry of Education partner with Mr Bolt in promoting speaking engagements in schools across the country.

As a motivational speaker, Mr Bolt would contribute tremendously to the social intervention programmes needed in communities all over the country.

Mr Bolt's parents could also be engaged to help promote family values around the topic of stable parenthood.

I am, etc.,

WARREN ROBINSON
