The Editor, Sir:Persons with disabilities have continued to represent the country across the world. Our recent achievements are the Paralympics team of Tanto Campbell, winner of the Jamaican's lone medal (bronze), Vivette Green, Sylvia Grant and Alphanso Cunningham - all four achieving their personal best at the games which followed the Olympics in Beijing, China.
I would like to use this medium to congratulate the team and the four officials.
I also implore Prime Minister Bruce Golding to make December 3, which is globally celebrated as International Day for Disabled Persons, a day highlighting some of the achievements of persons with disabilities who have made a noble contribution to Jamaica over the years, in politics, religion, sports, entertainment , among other things.
I am, etc.,
