Both the Pick-9 and Super-6 start anew at Caymanas Park tomorrow with guaranteed carryovers of $1 million and $500,000, respectively.

Tomorrow has been designated Kenneth Mattis Day at Caymanas Park, as the promoter, Caymanas Track Limited, pays tribute to the eight-time champion trainer. Mattis retired in early July after a long and distinguished career.

The Pick-9 will embrace races three to 11, while the Super-6 will be conducted from the fifth to the 10th race. We look at the Super-6 which gets under way with a $470,000-$410,000 claiming race to be contested by seven starters.

Pretty light

Among them are the down-in-class SIR KHAN, JET SKIER, I AM PAID FOR and the consistent BONNIE'S VICTORY, who reports pretty light with 49.0kg. SIR KHAN, now back to his happy hunting ground (high claiming), has beaten better in the not-too-distant past, and thus gets the nod with champion jockey Omar Walker taking the ride.

Next on the programme is a three-year-old maiden race over 1400 metres in which the lightly raced PICCOLO looks the obvious choice. Trained by Hall of Famer Allan 'Billy' Williams, the bay filly by Splinter Red out of Borcellino failed by a length to catch TESSANNE on her debut over 1400 metres on September 3, this after missing the break.

Now, better for the experience, she should make no mistake.

Other firm Super-6 fancies are SHE'S MAGIC (Walker up) to catch the well-forward debutante WESTERN GENIUS in the seventh race, Winnie Anglin Memorial Cup for two-year-olds; hat-trick seeker MR BLAIR to outfinish the consistent PRIME MINISTER in the eighth, the Kenneth Mattis O.D. Trophy over 2000 metres (overnight allowance), DOLLAR WIN in the ninth and down-in-class GOOD CITIZEN in the 10th, the valuable CTL Imported Stakes.
