DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Jamaica College (JC) will look to shrug off a disappointing start to the ISSA/Digicel/Pepsi Manning Cup season when they face Mona at 3:30 today at Mona High.
At Jarrett Park last weekend the Cup holders, drawn in Group C, found themselves 2-0 down to Jonathan Grant, but battled back to salvage a point from the opener thanks to Ashani Walker, who netted twice to ensure a share of the spoils.
Get under way
Hosts Mona finally look to get their season under way after forfeiting the points in their first game, following a failure to turn up with their identification cards.
Jonathan Grant will in the meantime be looking to prove that their opening-day fixture was not a fluke when they host Wolmer's.
In the group's other game, Denham Town will travel to Vauxhall.
In Group D, Bridgeport will be looking to continue their traditional run of early good form when they tackle parish rivals St Jago. St Jago will be keen to rebound after being narrowly clipped 3-2 away to José Marti.
In that group's other games, Cumberland will host Eltham while Innswood tackle José Marti.
Capitalise on start
Over in Group F, Kingston College, another team expected to do well this season will look to capitalise on a good start when they face Kingston High.
St Catherine will be seeking a second straight win when they travel to Penwood, while Edith Dalton James will look to recover from an early stumble when they take on St Andrew Technical.
