'T&T trying to 'buy friends'?

The Editor, Sir:

As a Trinidadian, I am ashamed of Prime Minister Patrick Manning, who seems to believe that T&T's oil wealth can buy him anyone and anything. Isn't Manning aware that a Caricom treaty already exists? Therefore, isn't this political-union idea redundant or an undermining of Caricom? Further, who is going to head this political union? Certainly not Mr Manning whose track record for management of Trinidad and Tobago has been found wanting.
