Dishonourable conduct

1 There are persistent whisperings about the head of a prominent organisation who has outstanding debts, which he has refused to honour. People are suggesting that the 'fit and proper' would certainly not fit, for his behaviour falls short of the mark. At least one creditor is moving to take the matter to court in order to collect. Listen for it.

What code of conduct?

2 As cringeworthy as the recent firearm stunt appears to be, it pales in comparison to the many yards of fabric alleged to have been used to describe the one from the east who has switched allegiance. The party faithful was called on the telephone and when he disclosed that he was supporting the other side, he was given a robust tracing. Yes, this is a bitter battle and the code of conduct is really a joke, for no one is abiding by it.

Bullet-proof and all that

3 People are saying before one comes to discuss the bullet-proof vehicle, one should address the subject of housing, for no matter how well appointed the wheels, and even though it may be valued as much as a house, it is still not a house and a man needs a roof over his head.

Being kept in style

4 There was a time when the ink could not dry on the man's cheque before it became all rubbery. The word quickly spread and merchants avoided him like a piranha. Now money woes are a thing of the past, since he is now a kept man, and is able to buy anything that his heart desires. His cheque-writing skills are now as good as they have ever been and his wallet is laden with credit cards. The joys of being kept!

Trinidad calling

5 There has been a steady trek from Kingston to Port-of-Spain in recent times. Local employers are not only facing competition from North America, but the oil-rich twin-island republic is holding out the carrot to a variety of professionals. Some have decided to do a tryout, while others are signing long-term contracts. So now the traffic is no longer one-way, i.e. from Trinidad to Jamaica. It is now a dual carriage of sorts with movement in both directions.
