published: Friday | August 22, 2008

Virgo

Pepsi Cola Jamaica has introduced a special edition label for Pepsi, featuring 2007 Rising Stars winner Romain Virgo. When consumers purchase Pepsi with the new Romain Virgo label, they will have a chance to win great prizes in the beverage company's 2008 Rising Stars promotion. This is the first time that a Jamaican entertainer is featured on the label of Jamaica's most popular cola beverage. Pepsi has been a sponsor of Rising Stars for four years and, during that time, has always had a special promotion offer associated with the popular talent competition.

Good Times helps rehab centre

The promoters of Good Times, The Quorum, has always taken a real concern in the Sir John Golding Rehabilitation Centre, and, as such, had made it their point of duty to allocate a portion of the revenue received from Good Times to the centre. This year, part proceeds from the event will go towards repairing the building, which a fire destroyed a portion of on September 18, 2006. The Quorum is also providing books and uniforms for the children of the centre. With all this in mind, patrons are encouraged to bring donations such as books and other necessities when Good Times Funky Revolution comes to Mas Camp, Oxford Road, on Saturday, August 30.

Janet believes in Pleasure Principle

R'n'B diva Janet Jackson is taking a page from Jennifer Lopez's empire-expanding book and has announced plans to launch Pleasure Principle, her own line of lingerie, come November. This way, she'll have no one to blame for a wardrobe malfunction but herself. "People have come to me with other ideas, but lingerie is a passion for me and, just like music and acting, I can't do it unless I put 100 per cent into it," Jackson said.
