Letter - Regulate, don't eliminate foreign exchange industry
published: Friday | August 22, 2008

THE EDITOR, Sir:

With regards to this whole foreign exchange trading, I believe it is of utmost urgency that the government develop and implement some criteria to govern our local operations.

It is without a doubt that foreign exchange trading is one of the most lucrative but complex ways of realising real wealth.

This can be done with minimal risk of losing funds as there are numerous software programmes available to minimise loss and realise real gain, and they do work as these programmes were developed by trusted professionals in the business for over 25 years.

It is without a doubt that this forex trade is being used by unscrupulous individuals to swindle people out of their hard-earned cash, but there are other individuals locally who mean well for small investors like myself; who spend a vast amount of time, effort and money mastering the art of trading.

Nothing new

Forex trading is nothing new and, in my opinion, could be the way out from under some of the country's financial burden, and should be looked on as more positive than negative by the Financial Services Commission.

The FSC should regulate the industry rather than trying to eliminate the trade locally.
