Ryan Brown, 2008 all-island champion student in the Vivian Rochester Memorial Mathematics Competition, has scored big again.
This time, he has gained six Grade One passes in the 2008 Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations.
Brown says when he got the news he was pleasantly surprised as, while he worked hard, he was not expecting that he would have done so well.
Head boy
A graduate of Campion College, where he was head boy, Brown has received a grant and will in September attend the University of Waterloo in Canada, where he will study actuarial sciences.
He told The Gleaner that he was successful in the examinations because of the overwhelming support he got from his teachers and parents. Brown also noted that he worked hard and studied smart.
The 18-year-old is no stranger to success and earned seven Grade One passes and two credits in Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate examinations two years ago.
At his school's graduation ceremony this year, he was awarded a prize for the top student in economics.
