Just let it go! - Release and heal thyself

If you are going through a period of anger, anxiety and frustration, you are prone to diseases such as strokes, heart attacks,depression and other degenerative diseases. Therefore, it is important to release and let go.

How do you release? It could be by going into self-denial or entering the realm of healing with the divine essence of spirit. Here are three powerful methods to remain well and to heal your thoughts with love and forgiveness. They are the power of words; the power of scenic beauty and the power of healing with herbs and natural supplements.

1. The power of words

Here are some simple words taken from John 14. verse 27 from the Good News Bible: ' Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried or upset; do not be afraid."

Peter 5, verse 7: 'Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you.'

When you are aware of your divine connection with these words, the power of faith will really remove the clutter from the mind as you inhale deeply the breath of life and exhale the toxins of anger and frustration.

2. The power of scenic beauty

When last have you taken a sabbatical by the ocean? You could also go by a waterfall, into a creative garden or watch the sunset or sunrise in their glory granting peace to the mind. It is very important to even see the beautiful pictures of these surroundings in a magazine or just view these scenes on your computer.

It is even good to pack some fruits and drinks and take a drive out to the country on a bus just to observe people and scenes that can make you laugh or cry. Releasing stress for a day provides a good night's sleep and a stimulating mind to deal with life's problems. If at this time, you have a poor appetite, just keep taking fruit juices in the morning, broths mid-afternoon, and vegetable juices or teas late afternoon.

3. The power of healing herbs

For over 40 years, I have followed up on the effects of medicinal plants clinically and traditionally. I have learnt that many of these plants do produce results that are similar to pharmaceutical medicines and even better than synthetic medicines. It is important not to use herbal medicines to replace the physician but everyone is responsible for his/her own health.

Herb baths sedate or stimulate the mind and pores of the body producing many beneficial effects. Herbs generally used in baths for calming are lemongrass, soursop leaves, and citrus leaves.

In terms of teas, soursop leaves do make a nice tea for calming the nerves and is best prepared by taking one teaspoon of the dried herb to infuse in a cup of boiling water or infuse three small leaves to a cup of boiling water. The fruit is excellent to take as a nutritional drink. Passion fruit drink also relaxes the nerves. Fennel seed tea is also excellent to brew and take for a nervous and stressful stomach.
