The fourth estate is one of those special groups, and when one of its own takes leave, all come out to say 'bye.
Michelle Callus, a media liaison with the British High Commission, jetted out of our climes on Friday, so the evening before, members of the high commission's media team gave her a fond farewell, and they invited members of the local fraternity (with whom Callus interacted frequently) to help say cheerio to the amiable woman. Acting Deputy British High Commissioner Martin Fidler played host at his residence within the high commission's grounds.
Will be missed

British High Commissioner Jeremy Cresswell thanked Callus for her contribution, and said she would be missed both professionally and personally. For Callus, Jamaica was her second posting, having first served in Beirut. When she told that to members of the fraternity, the eyebrows immediately went up, but she assured them that she had a great time there; as much as she had in Jamaica.
She heads back to London after nearly two years on Jamrock, and expects that she will be stationed in England's capital for a little while before moving on again. She thanked the local media practitioners, saying how enjoyable it was to work with them, and wished the individuals present the best, both in their lives and in their careers.
Guests out included Leighton Levy and Yolande Giles-Levy, Damion Blake, Dennis Brooks, Maurice Foster, Dr Paul Wright, Kimberly Blair, Dr Orville Taylor, Wilton Dyer, Derrick Wilks, Dania Bogle and Kimone Thompson.
