WESTERN BUREAU:
It was a pink affair for women only at the Golf View Hotel in Mandeville, Manchester, last Thursday, as First Global Financial Services (FGFS) treated several women to an evening of 'Tea and Talk' and investment opportunities.
This was definitely a 'girls thing'. The woman chatted quietly among themselves, sipping tea and nibbling onhors d'oeuvres.
President of FGFS, Sandra Shirley, rolled out the company's many investment funds available in the market.
Geared specifically towards women

These senior women from Mandeville, Manchester, examine the evening's programme during the 'Tea and Talk' seminar.
The event was geared specifically towards women, as FGFS embarks on an islandwide investment drive, as part of its strategy to provide investor education.
Financial analysis has shown that women are predominantly more inclined to make investment decisions. However, from the success of last Thursday's event, Ms Shirley gave a strong indication that FGFS would be holding a series of investment seminars focusing on male investors.
With a management portfolio of J$19.8 billion in pension funds, in addition to $19 billion in repos and off-balance sheet funds being managed on clients' behalf, FGFS is one of the approved institutions through which entrepreneurs and persons who are not enrolled in pension schemes at their workplaces can save up to 20 per cent of their annual earnings.
