HOTTEST TOPICS ON THE COCKTAIL CIRCUIT

Interesting connections

1 The investigation into the administration of the dependent, its governance and banks, has thrown up some interesting connections. Seems like some will have some explaining to do when all is made public!

Meltdown effect

2 The meltdown has already started as some family heirlooms are now being quietly offered up for sale as a way of staving off further collapse. Friends say it seems more money than previously thought was sunk in the 'investment club'.

Dismissed with a flick

3 Word is that the recent high-profile filming event did not go down so well at all. Some are saying the subject was more than a little over the top, especially when approached by the waiter in the high-end establishment, who was dismissed with a flick of the wrist and told: "Bring me the most expensive bottle of champagne". Talk about shock and awe!

Beachfront property

4 The deposit of US$500,000 was made on the beachfront property, but with the collapse of the 'funding club', the vendors are just a tad worried if, indeed, there will be a follow-through payment to seal the deal.

Getting ready

5 Are the crime fighter and the news-maker getting ready for the arrival of the stork?

Scam time

6 Some are saying it's a sign of the times, but others say the increase in fraud affecting the business and banking sectors is cause for concern. Particularly the rise in credit-card fraud, and the connection to some businesses.

Newly-weds

7 The family was all set to kill the fatted calf and roll out the red carpet when the son called to say he had got married and was coming home for a visit. Imagine their surprise when their son turned up and his 'bride' turned out to be another man. The newly-weds were kicked out of the family home (literally), their bags thrown out on to the front lawns.

Florida homes

8 Seems like the number of our politicians with registered properties and homes in Florida and elsewhere has sent up some red flags, causing some in our own Government, as well as some United States government agencies, to make some enquiries into their financial dealings.
