Hill brothers' curfews lifted
published: Thursday | July 31, 2008

Cash Plus boss Carlos Hill and his brother, Bertram Hill, had their curfews lifted and other bail conditions varied when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Bertram Hill has been given the go-ahead to travel abroad, but he must be at court when so ordered.

The men had to report to the police daily, but Senior Resident Magistrate Glen Brown, in varying the conditions of bail, said they were no longer required to do so.

The curfew imposed on them had ordered that they be at home from 6 p. m. to 6 a.m.

The Hill brothers are to return to court on October 7 when the case will be mentioned.

In May, they were arrested and charged jointly with executive officer Peter Wilson with conspiracy to defraud Cash Plus investors. Carlos Hill is also charged with fraudulent conversion and obtaining money by means of false pretences.
