Hope Wheeler, who plays Mother Liza, was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Here, she takes a look at her portrait.

On Tuesday evening, director and producer of Royal Palm Estate, Lenny Little-White, showed his appreciation of the cast and crew in a special awards ceremony held at the Terra Nova Hotel.

When Little-White made an early vote of thanks speech, he pointed out how important those persons behind the scenes were and thanked his ever colourful cast members. He explained that Royal Palm Estate would be going into its 27th season and will be looking for sponsors to replace CVM TV.

"We hope to be back in September. We have to re-invent ourselves by bringing in new people. Expect new storylines, introducing new characters," Little White said.

Interesting cast members

Royal Palm is now in its 26th season, with exciting guests which include local celebrities, such as Macka Diamond, D'Angel, Reneto Adams, Kingsley 'Ragashanti' Stewart and Peter Lloyd.

In the upcoming 27th season, the show is looking to bring in Dahlia Harris, who has already shot most of her scenes, Cezar, Noel Kerr, Danny Champagne, Vybz Kartel, Da'Ville and Tanya Stephens.

Royal Palm Estate was first broadcasted in 1994 and the first Hall of Fame Awards was held in 2004 during which, 10 cast members were inducted.

Among those honoured at the ceremony were The Gleaner as a media recipient, and from the crew: Reuben Nunes, Radcliffe McBean, Sandra Gayle and Cheryl Ryman. All awardees were given a plaque.

Those inducted into the hall of fame were also presented with a huge portrait to be put in the hall of fame.
