Latoya Grindley, Gleaner WriterLast Wednesday evening, the Kiwanis Club of New Kingston extended gratitude and appreciation to several media houses at its weekly meeting at the Hilton Kingston hotel.
The afternoon began as the service club's regular meeting, but there were plans in store for the media personnel who were taken by surprise. Following the announcement by President Claudette Carter, the format of the meeting was altered to provide some refreshing entertainment for the guests. That set the stage for the revelation that the New Kingston club is filled with funny, vibrant and talented women.
Much to the delight of club members and the visitors, they showcased talent ranging from poetry to singing and all was well received with cheers that echoed throughout the meeting room.
Media houses were also given tokens of appreciation.
After all the frolicking and laughing, it was then back to business for the club.
