Below are comments from readers on last Saturday's C1 story 'Pregnant with pain: Years after abortion, women grapple with grief'.
Lasting effects
I think abortion is wrong. Having an abortion, when pregnant for the first time, might ruin the chance of birthing the only child God ordained you to have.
In the long run, when you marry or settle down with someone who wants to have a family and you cannot have a child, this can cause problems and end up with you losing the one you love.
To those thinking about having an abortion, carry the child to full term, no matter the cost, even if the man has turned his back on you and you don't know how you're going to care for that child. This child could be the next prime minister, doctor or even a preacher. It might seem hard at first but it will be worth it after all.

Don't legalise it
Abortion should most certainly not be be legalised in Jamaica!
Abortion is not in the interest of society, the father, the woman, or the child.
