PSOJ backs measures
published: Thursday | July 24, 2008

The Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ) is supporting the measures announced by the prime minister to control the escalating crime problem.

But PSOJ president, Christopher Zacca, said while he is pleased with the measures, a lot more needs to be done.

Zacca said the country is faced with a crisis and that it is imperative that the Government move expeditiously to enact the necessary legislation, which will allow for swift implementation of the measures.

He said the PSOJ is also appreciative that some of the recommendations it made to the government were among the measures.

Zacca said it is important for the Government and the Opposition to have continued dialogue as the measures are implemented.
