The principal, Burchell Duhaney, and the board of directors of Edna Manley College (EMC) teamed up on June 30 to celebrate the service of 61 committed staff members at its Long-Service Awards Ceremony at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel.
Those who were honoured have collectively contributed a total of 945 years to the college, and have individually served at least 10 years, the longest being 32 years. The awardees included members from the ancillary, administrative, middle and senior management, faculty and the board.
In true EMC spirit, the function was complemented with performances from the School of Dance and upcoming Digicel's Rising Stars contestants R-3, who also happen to be groundsmen at the college. A heart-felt speech from former principal, Lady Hall, got many persons commenting that it was as if she was still a part of the EMC family.
