Why yuh nuh stop mek mi laugh in public and embarass miself? Yuh a gwaan too bad now man! From now on, I can only read your articles in the privacy of my home!
Woi! Mi side a buss wid laughing! Lalah, you gwine kill mi! Anyway, next time you will know not to laugh when you see women in purple wigs and rotund figures quarreling over clothes in a wholesale! Thank God you went into the lioness' den and lived to tell the tale. All you can say is that Mr Chin run you out!
Anyway, I can't wait until next Thursday to see what other trouble you get yourself into. Until then, walk good.
I wanted you to know that this week's story was a very well written narrative. It was so interesting as well as funny. Please keep up the good work. Have you considered writing a book? I am almost sure that you will make a very good author!
I must say I find your articles very entertaining and I look forward to them each week.
I think you should compile them into a book. Keep up the good work.
Simple pleasures
Dear Robert,
I am writing to thank you for your contributions to The Gleaner. Your articles are always entertaining, educational and enlightening. I am an American, born and raised in Miami, Florida, but my parents are from Jamaica. I've been to Jamaica several times, but it's not the same as if I had grown up there. Your articles always help me to appreciate the simple pleasures and nuances of everyday Jamaican life.
Thank you again for your articles and keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
RR
Best columnist
Dear Robert,
This story made me roar with laughter. I live in the U.S. but have visited Jamaica quite often and I could just see all this going on in the traffic!! You are most certainly one of the best columnists I've ever read. Please keep up the good work.

I can't get enough
Dear Robert,
As a native of Guyana, I'm always left with a feeling of wanting more and more and more of your stories. There is something particularly special about the piece featuring Donisha and Pauletta along with Mr Chin "De Chiney man." In a world where there is so much violence and anger, there are those who can disagree and in a moment become as one, and there is something that all of us can learn from this humorous story. As much as there is a filling that takes place when your stories are read, there is a message within them.
There are times when patois can be overbearing when spoken by some people and this is something I have experienced even in my homeland, but when it is spoken by others and it is recorded, it brings a smile and sometimes laughter to me. Keep those stories coming man, the only thing is, those stories are too short!

Made my day
Dear Robert,
You have made my day! I almost choked on my lunch reading - "Afta nothing nah move! Di traffic so poco poco today. Di place tan bad man! Mi all a get hungry now and mi haffi memba di sugar," said Milford, looking annoyed.
I feel like I am right there on Trafalgar Road hearing de dutty bad-wud dem ah fly. I look forward to your travels every week and they truly make me feel like I am home.
Keep roving!
Regards,

One love!
Irie Robert,
I am an American who LOVES Jamaica and I've been vacationing there for over 25 years, always staying at the local guesthouses. No big hotels and resorts for me! I do everything on the local level. Eat at the 'cookshops' and local cafés, use the minibus and route taxis, drink at the local bars! So I have a good understanding of the Jamaican people and culture.
I have been reading The Gleaner online for several years now, and I just want to say how much I enjoy your Roving with Lalah articles. They always bring me right back to Jamaica. They also help me improve my understanding of the Patois!
Just want to say thank you and keep up the good work!
ONE LOVE!!
Mike

Dear Robert,
You are God's gift to Jamaicans living there and abroad. It is going to take me a while to stop laughing about this week's article.
