The gleaner's GSAT countyscholarship winners

Tremaine Dixon, Surrey recipient of The Gleaner Company's Children's Own Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) County Scholarships, stands proudly with his prizes as Karin Cooper, corporate affairs and marketing manager of The Gleaner, presents him with a picture board of his achievements, at the annual awards luncheon at the Gleaner's North Street offices, central Kingston, on Tuesday.


Deputy Managing Director Christopher Barnes shares a moment with Cornwall scholarship recipient Lukel Miller. Miller, who will be attending Knox College in September, received a GSAT average of 86 per cent and said he welcomed the $30,000 scholarship award at The Gleaner's Children's Own GSAT County Scholarships awards luncheon.

Rudolph Speid, The Gleaner's financial controller, presents Valerie Clahar-Knight, representative from Albert Town Primary in Trelawny, with a gift of thanks for preparing Cornwall recipient Lukel Miller, who received a scholarship at The Gleaner's Children's Own GSAT County Scholarships awards luncheon.


Rev Glen Archer (left), Scripps and Spelling Bee coach, welcomes a gift from The Gleaner's Deputy Managing Director, Christopher Barnes, at The Gleaner Company's Children's Own GSAT County Scholarships awards luncheon. Archer coached Surrey winner Tremaine Dixon and commended the parents for the discipline instilled in the children which he said made his job easier.


Oliver Clarke congratulates Primrose Swaby, Spelling Bee coach of Middlesex recipient Shari-Jo Miller, for her commitment and efforts with the children of Villa Road Primary and Junior High, the school Miller attended.
