Maureen Charlton welcomes People's National Party chairman, Robert Pickersgill, to her daughter's sweet 16 birthday party.
WESTERN BUREAU: She is only 16, but to celebrate her milestone, Sabrina Charlton's birthday was no child's play.
On Saturday, June 28, more than 200 specially invited guests strolled into the home of her parents, Lynson and Maureen Charlton, in Upton, St Ann, to wish the little miss 'happy sweet 16'.
As guests nibbled on the scrumptious meal and sipped their drinks, reggae music thumped from the jukeboxes, which shared musical interlude duties with a band, led by vocalist Charmaine 'Champagne' Murray. A cabaret performer, Murray pulled out all the stops to entertain guests who converged on the pool deck.
The proud dad says it is incumbent on him to make his little girl happy. "A girl only gets to enjoy her 16th birthday once in a lifetime," he notes.
Sabrina might have her coming-of-age party in two years, but dad says that's dependent on how well she performs in school.
