CAVE HILL, Barbados (CMC):

The University of the West Indies' Vice Chancellor's XI were outclassed as Australia crushed them by 211 runs in their day/night limited-overs tour match on Saturday at the Three Ws Oval.

Chasing 338 for victory from their allocation of 50 overs, the Vice Chancellor's XI batsmen failed to fire and they were dismissed for 126 in 33.1 overs.

West Indies wicketkeeper-/batsman Denesh Ramdin hit a single boundary in the top score of 43 from 58 balls, but no other Vice Chancellor's XI batsman made more than 15.

Most successful bowler

Left-arm medium-fast bowler Nathan Bracken was the most successful Australia bowler with three wickets for 25 runs from eight overs.

David Hussey claimed two for four from 2.1 overs towards the end and Mitchell Johnson snared two for 24 from five overs.

The Vice ChancellorŐs XI never recovered after they slumped to 52 for five in the 15th over, but Ramdin, Darren Sammy and Ravi Rampaul got things moving and helped the home team to reach the respectability of the 100-run mark.

Earlier, consistent batting right down the order helped Australia to post 337 for six from their 50 overs. Shane Watson hit six fours and four sixes to lead the way for the Australians with a fluent 95 from 85 balls.

David Hussey boosted the Aussies with 55 from 36 balls, Michael Clarke made a silky 53 from 35 balls before he retired out and Mike Hussey scored a purposeful 50 from 72 balls.

Kemar Roach was the pick of the Vice Chancellor's XI's bowlers with two for 47 from eight overs, Rampaul grabbed two for 70 from nine overs and Sammy took two for 78 from nine overs.
