Kensington and Hanover will contest the final of the Jamaica Cricket Association's (JCA) Senior Cup competition after securing first innings points against St Ann and Lucas in the two-day semi-final matchups that ended yesterday.

At the Kensington Oval: The hosts, resuming on 72-2 in chase of St Ann's 219 all out, racked up 304 all out to snatch first innings points.

Upston Edwards led the way with 107 not out, while Horane Miller added 72.

The pair of Andre Dwyer and Orville Pennant spearheaded St Ann's bowling. Dwyer had figures of 3-97, while Pennant grabbed 3-39. Batting a second time, St Ann were 49-2 at the close of play.

Significant contributors

At Elgin Town, Hanover: The home team, chasing a modest 175 all out by Lucas, made 227 after resuming yesterday on 79-1.

Jermaine Blackwood led the way with the bat, falling two runs short of the half-century mark, while Chan Wakefield (42) and Bruce Blackwood (39) were the other significant contributors to the total.

For Lucas, Ransford Merchant was the pick of the bowlers, capturing an impressive 5-31, while Markan Guy took 3-33.

At the close of play Lucas, batting for a second time, were 114-7. Roman Senior made 53 not out for Lucas, while Hugh Blackwood took 5-57 for Hanover.

Automatic placement

The winner of the Senior Cup will automatically secure a place in next season's Super League, while the team that finishes second will play off against Westmoreland for the other spot.

Westmoreland beat the Jamaica Defence Force in a play-off between the bottom two Super League teams in a recent play-off that gives either team a half-chance to remain in the nation's top-flight cricket championship.

The final of the Senior Cup is scheduled to take place next weekend at a venue to be decided.
