The Editor, Sir:
I was delighted to see the headline of The Gleaner of Monday, June 16, with a positive and uplifting message, instead of the constant negatives we are accustomed to.
'Supermom', instead of murder, political controversy, scandal, scams and the likes, filled me, and I'm sure many other people, with a lighter, brighter sense as one started out the day.
Downplay negativity
And it is a known fact that what we think about, see in front of us, dwell on and entertain is what we are keeping alive.
If crime and negativity were downplayed in the media, the 'vibe' it generates would diminish and aid in the eventual goal of peace and love for one another so lacking in our society at present.
So, congratulations to The Gleaner on its positive headline and hoping the newspaper will continue to have more of the same.
I am, etc.,
