AS THE Reggae Boyz and Girlz continue their World Cup qualification campaigns they will be able to rest more comfortably thanks to Unicomer Jamaica Limited (trading as Courts) following the $4 million refur-bishing of their official residence.
The project, which will run over a three-year period, has seen initial refurbishing of the interior and exterior of the premises. The building, which had deteriorated, was repainted courtesy of Sherwin Williams Jamaica.
Fixtures, furnishings
The lighting and plumbing fixtures were replaced, the dining room, bathroom walls and kitchenette were retiled. Drapery, courtesy of Pings Fabrics, was provided for all rooms.
The house was also outfitted with 16 new bunks and the necessary bedding sets, a new living room suite, patio and coffee table set, a plasma tele-vision and a microwave.
Giving back to community
Dennis Harris, deputy managing director of Courts, at the handing-over ceremony at the Shortwood Road residence, on Wednesday said his company has remained committed to working with the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) in giving back to the community.
"At Courts, we derive tremen-dous satisfaction from the relationships we have been able to foster in our host communities where the citizens regard us as a community builder. The sporting sector is one of area in which we channel a lot of our resources," Harris said.
President of the JFF, Captain Horace Burrell, officially opened the refurbished residence and urged the Reggae Boyz and Girlz to make use of the facilities and take care of the furniture and other amenities provided for them."
