PORTMORE MISSIONARY are the early leaders after the opening day of the 2008 Inter-Prep Schools' Track & Field Championships at the National Stadium.

After two finals, Portmore Missionary were out front with 18.5 points, ahead of Hydel (14) and Quest (10).

Our Lady of the Angels (9.5), King's Gate (nine), Ardenne (six), Vaz (4.5) and Mona (2.5) are the other teams with points.

The girls' long jump final, scheduled for yesterday's afternoon session, was postponed.

WINNERS IN Male events

In the boys' Class One high jump final, Christoff Bryan of King's Gate reached 1.55 metres for the gold medal.

Jordan James of Hydel and Portmore Missionary's Franz Arnold both leapt 1.50m for second and third, respectively.

Portmore Missionary's Chad Johnson leapt 1.45m to win the boys' Class Two high jump event. Tremaine Williams of Quest (1.40m) and William Green of Ardenne (1.30m) filled out the other medal positions.
