DEFENDING CHAMPIONS Jamalco and Tivoli Gardens 'A' will clash this evening in Game one of the best-of-three finals of Jamaica Netball Association (JNA) Berger Paints Super League at the Leila Robinson Courts, starting 6 p.m.

Jamalco, who are unbeaten this season, are gunning for their sixth consecutive hold on the trophy, and their coach, Winston Nevers, is expecting an exciting match-up.

"We know that it is going to be a quality match because both teams are quality teams. We are expecting a real tough match from them in these finals," said Nevers.

"We play attacking netball, over the past five years we have been scoring the most goals in this competition, and this is going according to our plan, going into these finals," he said.

Optimistic

Sylvester Campbell, coach of Tivoli Gardens, is optimistic about his team's chances.

"We are very confident going into finals because we believe that we can win this series - and we are going to win it," said Campbell, whose team won the Open Rally competition earlier in the season.

"It is going to be a very good game because I know that we are going to have to fight very hard against Jamalco, but we are up for the challenge," he said.

Campbell also said his side had the depth to win the series.

"We have become a tougher and team over the years, and we are also getting better with every game," Campbell said.

"We have good changes, and that is what is important for us because whenever we make a change it is always effective for us," Campbell explained.

Jetsetters whipped

In Tuesday night's semi-finals, Jamalco whipped Jetsetters 'A' 56-37 and Tivoli Gardens 'A' defeated former champions Waulgrovians 'A' 37-30.

Former national goal shooter Elaine Davis led the way for Jamalco with 39 goals from 48 attempts. National Under-21 player Crystal Gordon top-scored for Jetsetters 'A' with 25 goals from 32 tries.

Tivoli Gardens' Jody-Ann French led the way for her team with 17 goals from 27 attempts and received support from Cleopatra Grant (13 goals from 20 tries). Simone Forbes (22 goals from 31 attempts) scored the most goals for Waulgrovians.
