Thanks to JMMB - for caring
published: Thursday | May 29, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

Please allow me space to publicly express my sincere gratitude to a company that I think should be given an award for being Jamaica's most caring company - Jamaica Money Market Brokers, and especially one of its principals, Mrs Donna Duncan-Scott.

Dealing with JMMB over recent years, I have experienced a kind of respect and courtesy for customers that I hardly ever experience elsewhere, whether in private or public sector.

This latest expression of love, care, compassion and concern that our family has had the distinct privilege of experiencing, thanks to JMMB, needs to be made public. If my cousin should ever be able to read this, I'm sure she would welcome this letter on her behalf.

Terminal disease

I wish to thank JMMB for the support they have given to my cousin who's now in hospital with a terminal disease. The support has not just come in the form of some serious financial assistance but more so with the personal care given by a number of members of staff of JMMB, including Donna Duncan-Scott herself.

In this day and age when most managers have no time, nor do some really care about their employees outside of the work environment, JMMB found the time, made the effort to provide round-the- clock nursing care for my cousin during her time at home.

When they saw that more needed to be done, JMMB took the time, did the necessary research and found a hospital in Florida which offers care to cancer patients. JMMB stood the cost of a three-week treatment amounting to millions of dollars.

Staff members paid visits

JMMB took the time to ensure that even though my cousin was being offered medical attention at the highest level that money could buy, to send members of their staff to sit by her side for every day out of those three weeks, 24-hours a day.

Donna Duncan-Scott herself, took time out of her schedule to be there by her bedside and now that she's returned home, not a day has passed and there's not a member of staff from JMMB by her bedside, along with a nursing assistant provided by the company.

The members of our family thank you JMMB. Thank you Donna Duncan-Scott, your own mother must be smiling and saying, "What a wonderful job I've done with my own daughter."

I am, etc.,

LOIS GRANT
