Q. I am 18, and I would like to know if it is a good idea to have intercourse with a tampon inside?A. I would NOT recommend this. It is a really uncertain method of contraception. Also, you might have difficulty in getting the crushed-up tampon out afterwards.
Q. I get really bad period pain and heavy bleeding. Would a coil help me?A. Only the coil, which is hormone-loaded. Ordinary coils tend to make the menses worse, not better.
Q. I have seen where you have advised guys who think they are too small. Well, Doc, my problem is the reverse. I am sure I am much too big, so no girl will ever want me.A. I think that is most unlikely. What you need to do is to have your penis examined by a doctor, who will be able to tell you whether you are abnormal or not.
Of course, he will not be able to see the organ when it is erect. There are two ways of getting round this problem. First, you could take a Polaroid photo of your erection and show it to him. Alternatively, you could just draw around it on a piece of card and give him the drawing.
Q. Doc, I have not seen my menses for three months. What could be the reason?A. Well, pregnancy is the commonest cause of missing periods at your age. So you must take a pregnancy test - unless, of course, you have not been with a guy in recent months. Other possibilities are anaemia (weak blood), hormone problems and polycystic ovary syndrome - which is quite common in young women. Please see a doc this week!
Q. Doc, I have been told by an older friend that if I touch a girl's bottom during sex, then I must NOT touch her vagina afterwards. Is this true? And if so, why?A. Yes, it is true. An increasing number of couples go in for the practice of touching each other's bottoms during sex. But if you do this, you must NOT touch the genitals afterwards - until you have washed your hands.
This is because the anus is a source of germs. And it is important that those germs do not get into the girl's vagina or urinary passage. If they do so, they could cause infections, such as cystitis.
Q. Can 'the clap' cure itself, aside from doctor's treatment?A. No! Anyone who catches gonorrhoea (clap) needs treatment from a doc.
