National Premier League champions Port-more United and Under-21 winners Harbour View claimed the major prizes at the Premier League Clubs Association awards cere-mony held at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel, St Andrew, on Wednesday evening.
Portmore United bagged eleven of the 24 awards. They had most wins, were named the best defensive team and scored most goals, 56.
Head coach of Portmore, the former Reggae Boyz defender Linval Dixon, was named coach of the year.
Star forward Roen Nelson walked away with two awards - the leading marksman in the league with 16 goals and was also the top scorer in the third round with 10.
National Under-21 captain, Ricardo Cousins, with nine goals, was named junior player of the season. The goalkeeper of the year was Portmore's Shawn Sawyers.
Other winners
Captain of the Portmore team, Anthony Modeste, received an award of $30,000 for steering his team to victory. He also received the Tony Burrowes Award valued at $100,000. Central defender Adrian Reid was voted player of the season.
Other winners were Village United who got the fair play award. Daniel Shaw of August Town received an award for being the top goalscorer in the second round, and Oneke Ford of Sporting Central Academy and Damion Harwood of St Georges both scored six goals to tie for top spot in the first round.
Courtney Campbell was named the top referee and Rohan Thorbourne the leading assistant. Both received awards.
Anthony Cooke was recognised as the commissary of the year for the fourth consecutive year.
Team awards
Champions Portmore United collected a whopping $2.25 million for winning the league, second-place Tivoli Gardens took home $1 million, third-place Boys' Town $700,000 and fourth, Harbour View, $500,000.
Among the under-21 teams, Ludlow Bernard of champions Harbour View received two awards, winning coach and coach of the year.
André Fagan of Harbour View was voted player of the season. He scored eight goals in 17 matches.
The leading goalscorer was Waterhouse's Jahmali Spence with 16.
The under-21 champions collected $165,000 while second-place Portmore took home $100,000. St Georges of Portland received $75,000 for third, and fourth-place Waterhouse got $50,000.
