Teens plead guilty in deacon case

The three male teenagers who were arrested and charged, along with a church deacon in 2006, for trafficking in persons in a case involving a 14-year-old schoolgirl, pleaded guilty yesterday.

The three pleaded guilty when they appeared in the Home Circuit Court and Justice Donald McIntosh extended their bail until Wednesday, when they will be sentenced.

Former church deacon, Donovan Jones, who is on bail, was ordered to return to court on September 22, when his trial will begin. Jones, 48, resigned from his position as a deacon after he was arrested and charged.

The three teenagers were accused of fondling the schoolgirl in April and May and one of them video-recorded the incidents.

Bodies found yesterday

The unidentified bodies of two men and a woman were found with gunshot wounds at Patrick Road and Asquit Drive, respectively, in Plantation Heights, St Andrew, yesterday morning.

The woman's body is of dark complexion, slim build and was clad in an orange blouse, grey shorts and black slippers. The bodies of the men are of dark complexion and medium build. One was clad in a khaki-coloured T-shirt, blue jeans and beige shoes, while the other was in blue jeans, a long-sleeved blue shirt and a pair of blue and green Timberland shoes.
