Kingston comes alive through art
published: Thursday | May 15, 2008

Downtown Kingston again comes alive with colour at the staging of the MultiCare Visual Arts Schools Exhibition tomorrow. The exhibition will be held at the MultiCare sports complex, the Breezy Castle Centre on Harbour Street.

Boys and girls from the MultiCare-assisted schools will display their talent and creativity as produced in the MultiCare Visual Arts workshops, held throughout the year.

Exhibition feature

Starting at 10:00 a.m., admission is free and the public is invited to come and view exciting images of colour while enjoying the perfect outdoor ambience of green grass amid golden sunlight, and cool sea breeze.

Showcasing a variety of medium, the exhibition will feature paintings, papier mache, printmaking, ceramics, basketry, drawing and macrame, as well as work from the wood-work and home economics departments of participating schools.

Enhance education process

Established in 1993, the MultiCare Foundation is endowed by Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited, Cari-bbean Cement Company Limited and ICD Group Limited.

MultiCare Core Programmes in Sports and the Visual and Performing Arts are intended to enhance the education process, and are operated in 31 MultiCare-assisted schools located in East, West, and Central Kingston and Greater Portmore, St Catherine.
