Marley
BOB MARLEY'S former manager Don Taylor stirred the proverbial hornet's nest in 1995 when his tell-all book, Marley and Me was released.
Taylor focused on his time with Marley and The Wailers during the 1970s when they broke through internationally.
He wrote about the reggae legend's notorious womanising, his abuse of wife Rita and the messy legal battle that settled his estate following his death in 1981.
Sensational tales
Rita Marley came out the most bloodied; she was portrayed as a money-hungry social climber. The sensational tales did not go down well with the Marley family who Taylor accused of harassing him.
The book did well financially for Kingston Publishers, the company that distributed it. Marley and Me sold well in Jamaica and Europe, particularly the United Kingdom where Marley had a strong following.
Don Taylor was recovering from substance abuse when he wrote Marley and Me.
He died in Florida in November 1999.
