The Jamaica Pegasus hotel's grand ballroom had a capacity crowd for the Kiwanis Club of New Kingston's annual Champagne luncheon last Thursday. It was a day to celebrate with women who had distinguished themselves in their fields of endeavour.

During lunch, Rory Baugh and Ana Strachan entertained.

Sarah Newland-Martin, Dr Olivia McDonald, Faye McIntosh and Sister Maureen Clare Hall were all lauded for their accomplishments.

Dr McDonald thanked the club on behalf of the other awardees. Among those who came out to give their support are: Beverly Lopez, Rita Humphries-Lewin, Pat Ramsay, Douglas Orane, Anthony Levy, Syringa Marshal-Burnett, Thalia Lyn, Fay Pickersgill, Minna Israel, Norma Shirley, Audrey Marks, Audrey Hinchcliffe, Lorna Myers, Becky Stockhausen, Ward Mills and Marilyn Bennett.
