Traffic trauma on Red Hills Road
published: Thursday | May 1, 2008

The Editor, Sir:

Driving on Red Hills Road is a traumatic experience especially during the peak hours in the morning and in the evening. It is my opinion that more than one team of policemen needs to be assigned at different spots along the road to eliminate the madness that occurs on a daily basis with double lanes of traffic and reckless overtaking.

Corrective action needed

On Friday morning last, at least two vehicles proceeded along the 'wrong side' of the road under the bridge, continuing to overtake vehicles around the very dangerous corner on Red Hills Road approaching Fairlane Drive. (This corner used to carry a skull and bones sign due to the high number of deaths from motor vehicle accidents.

I sincerely hope that some corrective action is taken before there are further deaths and injury.

I am, etc.,

RUSSELL
