The Editor, Sir:Prime Minister Bruce Golding must be commended for his unequivocal stance, during his Budget presentation, against slackening Jamaica's legal ban on buggery.
Gays are already free to do whatever they want in their own privacy and the majority of Jamaicans still oppose gayness so the Prime Minister is correct in upholding the people's values.
Someone has to draw the line somewhere concerning what kind of 'movement' should be adopted by sincerely God-fearing people on the planet. "Heterophobes" or gays, including gay church leaders, must respect Jamaicans' preferences and not try to impose their gayness on the Jamaican society. If and when, Euro-America legalizes be astiality, won't they try to force that on other countries too?
Bad habit
I respect Bishop John Shelby Spong and other pro-gay theologians, but I must join the millions who have already written volumes to prove that the kingdom of the Christ is not compatible with same-sex unions. For the umpteenth time, biblical theology portrays gayness as another habit that must be kicked, by God's grace.
Since gayness makes Euro-Americans happy they should relish their 'gaydom' in those Babylon countries and spare Jamaica their threats, ultimatums and all that abomination bangarang. Nuff respec' to PM Golding.
