Hinds rejoins Jamaica team
published: Saturday | April 19, 2008

Hinds

After a short stint in the controversial Indian Cricket League (ICL), Wavell Hinds has rejoined Jamaica's team for their Carib Beer Challenge Cup match against Trinidad & Tobago.

Hinds recently played in the ICL for Ahmedabhad Rockets along-side the likes of Australians Jason Gillespie and Damien Martyn. He scored a half century (56) in a practise match, which ended on Thursday.

14-man squad

The selectors have recalled leg-spinner Odean Brown, who was dropped for the last match, and retained Shawn Findlay, who is yet to play this season, in its 14-man squad.

In the absence of captain Chris Gayle, who is injured, Tamar Lambert will lead the team for the 11th time, but, most importantly, the first time in a final.

The final - a five-day match - is scheduled to be played from Thursday, April 24 to Monday, April 28, at Sabina Park.

Squad: Tamar Lambert, Xavier Marshall, Shawn Findlay, David Bernard Jnr., Odean Brown, Nikita Miller, Brendon Nash, Danza Hyatt, Darren Powell, Jerome Taylor, Brenton Parchment, Carlton Baugh Jnr, Wavell Hinds and Marlon Samuels.

Fast bowler Andre Russell, who played the first couple of matches of the season, and batsman Donovan Sinclair, have been put on standby for the game.
